Resignation of the Chairman of the Oil Exploration Authority due to violations by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Oil (Document)

The head of the Oil Exploration and Production Authority has submitted his resignation from his position in protest against the violations of the Minister of Oil and the Prime Minister, according to the draft resignation.

The head of the authority, Eng. Khalid Ahmed Bahmish, said that he submitted his resignation after violations by the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Saeed Al Shamsi, due to his continued residence in the Emirates for the benefit of oil companies such as the Austrian company OMV, and his violation of the terms of the agreement.

According to the resignation details, a copy of which was obtained by Yemen Youth Net, Minister Al-Shamasi and his predecessor obstructed the technical and supervisory role of the Oil Exploration and Production Authority, marginalized it from its work, and ignored its recommendations and visions, in favor of the oil companies.

Engineer Bahmish also accused the Prime Minister of violating the law, forming an illegal committee, and illegal expenditures.

Engineer Bahmish said that marginalizing the Oil Exploration Authority and establishing new companies also aims to divide the country's wealth, tear it apart and distribute it among oil companies.

Another document issued yesterday, Wednesday, indicates the Ministry of Oil’s approval of the resignation and the appointment of an acting head in his place.
