American billionaire Elon Musk announced on Monday that the X platform is being subjected to a major cyber attack, and said that the attack is being carried out by "a large and organized group, and it may be a state involved in it."

Musk posted his message as a comment on another post that linked protests against the billionaire's government efficiency committee, Tesla stores that were attacked, and the current downtime of the X platform, without providing any evidence.

"We are attacked every day, but this attack was organized with a lot of resources. Either there is a coordinated group involved, or there is a country. We are continuing the investigation," he added.

The complaint of the X service outage began at 6 a.m. Monday, and then repeated at 10 a.m., when more than 40,000 users were unable to access the platform, according to the service tracking site Downsector.com.

A rolling outage lasting at least an hour began around noon today, with the most severe disruptions occurring along the U.S. coast. The disruptions appeared to be more severe for coastal users, according to the Associated Press.

Downsector.com reported that 56 percent of the problem was caused by X app users, while 33 percent was caused by X website users.

It is noteworthy that the “X” platform was exposed in March 2023, when its name was “Twitter”, to a major outage that lasted for about an hour.
