Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan stressed the importance of raising security vigilance and preparedness to confront the threats posed by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militias and their ongoing attempts to destabilize the governorate.
While chairing a security committee meeting on Wednesday, Governor Shamsan emphasized the need to sense national responsibility and implement directives aimed at protecting the governorate from any breaches with firmness and precision, while enhancing joint coordination between various military and security agencies.
Taiz Axis Commander Major General Khaled Fadel presented a detailed report on the military situation on various fronts, noting the ongoing response to Houthi infiltration and attack attempts, which have failed due to the resilience of the armed forces and security forces.
For his part, the province's deputy police chief, Colonel Anis Al-Shamiri, presented a security report outlining the successes achieved by security services in monitoring and tracking sleeper cells and arresting their members in accordance with strict legal procedures. He explained that several members of these cells were arrested, explaining that security services were able to curb crime and apprehend 70 percent of those wanted by security forces, referring them to the relevant authorities.
The meeting also discussed the problem of the influx of illegal immigrants, the need to enhance security, control the governorate's ports, and coordinate with the Refugee Affairs Unit to take appropriate action against them.
This comes in conjunction with the escalation carried out by the Houthi militia on a number of fronts in the governorate.
