The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, said on Sunday evening that he had concluded a visit to Muscat, where he met with Omani officials and Houthi leaders. At a time when the Houthi militias' fears of an escalation aimed at ending their control are escalating.

Media sources revealed that the United States has asked the Sultanate of Oman to expel the Houthi negotiating delegation currently in Muscat.

The office of the United Nations envoy to Yemen said that the Muscat negotiations resulted in an “important breakthrough,” noting that the parties reached an understanding about the release of Muhammad Qahtan, stressing that the release of arbitrarily detained civilians is the only acceptable option.

 The spokesman for the Yemeni government negotiating team, Majid Fadael, said on Tuesday that their negotiations with the Houthi group regarding the exchange of prisoners and detainees "are still in their first stage."

On Sunday, the Association of Mothers of Abductees and the SAM Organization for Rights and Freedoms launched an urgent humanitarian appeal to the negotiators in Muscat to release all the abductees, led by Muhammad Qahtan, without restrictions or conditions.
