A child was seriously injured when an explosive device left behind by the terrorist Houthi militia exploded in Hajjah Governorate (northwest of Yemen).

The Yemeni Observatory for Landmines said today, Saturday, that the child (Adel Mohammed Malhi Kadish - 13 years old) sustained various injuries, including the amputation of his left hand, due to the explosion of an explosive device camouflaged as a toy planted by the Houthis.

He added that the incident occurred while the child was herding sheep in the Al-Mahsam area in Bani Hassan district in Abs district in Hajjah governorate.

Government reports indicate that the terrorist Houthi militia has planted more than two million mines and explosive devices in various Yemeni governorates since the beginning of the war, and its incidents have killed and injured thousands of civilians.
