The Houthi plane that tried to target the Safer oil terminal
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced, on Friday, the interception of three suicide drones launched by the Houthi militia on the Safer oil facility in Ma'rib Governorate, east of the country.
This came in a statement issued by the Yemeni Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, according to what was published by the September Net website, the spokesman for the Yemeni army, on the X platform.
The statement said, "The terrorist Houthi militia targeted today, Friday, at exactly 3:26 a.m., the Safer oil facility in Ma'rib Governorate with three winged suicide drones carrying highly explosive materials in a cowardly terrorist attempt to destroy this vital civilian facility."
The armed forces confirmed in its statement that it "shot down those planes before they achieved their criminal goals."
She explained that "information from the competent authorities indicates that these hostile aircraft were launched from a point located between the areas of Dahidha and Qarn Al-Suayri, east of the city of Al-Hazm, in Al-Jawf Governorate, which is under the control of the Houthi militia."
In this regard, the armed forces reiterated their "readiness to respond to such actions that target the interests of the Yemeni people and their sovereign economic facilities."
This Houthi escalation comes about a month after the UN envoy announced an agreement between the government and the Houthi militia regarding reducing economic escalation.
This Houthi escalation came amid the continued concessions made by the legitimacy, under international pressure, in favor of the terrorist Houthi militia.
