Over the course of six decades of the Republic, we find that the Yemeni political experience was based on strange contradictions and even stranger transformations. It did not create political elites aware of their political future or a society that is aware of its interests and follows the methods of achieving them. Rather, there was a break between the individual elite consciousness and the collective mass consciousness.

Muhammad Qahtan is not a minor figure, nor a marginal figure, nor is he an ordinary or obscure figure. He was at the pinnacle of presence, impact, and influence, and he is at the core of the Yemeni Islah Party, and at the peak of serving the nation and the national project, and he is the basis of political and popular action.
