US intelligence sources have revealed that the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen are using Chinese-made weapons in their attacks on shipping in the Red Sea in exchange for refraining from launching attacks on Chinese ships.

Earlier this week, the People's Republic of China sent a new naval fleet to the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters to protect its commercial ships in light of the ongoing Houthi attacks on international shipping vessels for more than a year.

The People's Republic of China has renewed its call for the Iranian-backed Houthis to stop naval attacks targeting cargo ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden for more than a year, stressing that these attacks have directly affected the lives of the Yemeni people.

Today, Tuesday, the second meeting of the Saudi-Chinese-Iranian Joint Tripartite Committee was held to follow up on the Beijing Agreement between Riyadh and Tehran, which was concluded under Chinese sponsorship, according to a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The US Mission to the United Nations revealed that a permanent member of the Security Council (which it did not name) opposes the Council imposing additional measures to reduce the Houthis’ aggressive actions in Yemen and the region.

The Chinese Embassy in Yemen, in cooperation with the Messengers of Peace Organization, held a special symposium on Saturday to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Yemen and China, under the slogan "Yemen and China: 68 Years of Fruitful Relations."
