The Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance announced on Wednesday the formation of new military forces under the name "Hadhramaut Protection Forces", outside the framework of state institutions, in a move that is considered a clear escalation days after it announced the opening of recruitment camps and demanded self-rule for the governorate.

On Friday evening, members of the Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance set up an armed point on the international line west of the governorate, as part of the alliance’s escalating and field steps to control the land, to demand Hadhramaut’s rights.

The presidency of the Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance announced, on Sunday evening, the self-rule of the governorate with full powers.

Today, Friday, the Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance set up a sit-in camp in the Raydah and Qusayr Directorate, as part of its escalating field steps to demand the rights of the governorate, after setting up a number of armed points in the oil field areas.

The Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance gave the Presidential Command Council and the government two days to implement its demands, warning against taking any step in exporting oil without establishing Hadhramaut’s status and guaranteeing its rights.
