The Yemeni government criticized the "lackluster and weak" UN position regarding the kidnappings of UN and international agency employees by the Houthi militia, while Human Rights Watch called on the United Nations to intensify its efforts to release them, after 6 months of their kidnapping.

The United Nations Human Rights Commission renewed its call to the terrorist Houthi militia to immediately and unconditionally release the kidnapped United Nations employees and all workers in international, local and UN organizations in Yemen.

The American Center for Justice (ACJ) considered the Houthi militia’s storming of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Sana’a, and its looting of documents, assets and property, a flagrant violation of international law that calls for a strong international response, calling on the Houthis to immediately and unconditionally release all detained employees, evacuate the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Sana’a, and return all confiscated assets and property.

Human Rights Watch called on the Iranian-backed Houthi militia to quickly evacuate the headquarters of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Sana'a, which it has occupied since the beginning of August.
