The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Thursday that the death toll from the Israeli aggression had risen to "44,330 martyrs," while the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that 15,000 pregnant women in the Gaza Strip were on the brink of starvation.

The Commissioner-General of UNRWA said that the agency, its employees and millions of Palestinian refugees are going through a critical time, calling on UN member states to work to prevent the implementation of Israeli legislation related to UNRWA and to continue funding the agency.

A report prepared with the support of the United Nations warned today, Saturday, that the specter of famine looms over the northern Gaza Strip, amid escalating shelling and fighting and the near halt of food aid, at a time when the toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the besieged Strip for more than a year has risen.
