This came after his meeting in Riyadh with a delegation from the new Syrian administration, where they discussed the latest developments in Syria and ways to support the transitional political process in a way that achieves the aspirations of the Syrian people and ensures the security, stability and unity of Syria’s territories.
In a post on the X platform, Khalid bin Salman described the meeting with the Syrian delegation as “fruitful,” and said: “Our brothers and sisters in Syria have suffered years of war, destruction, and difficult living conditions.”
On the other hand, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received the Foreign Minister of the new Syrian administration, Asaad Al-Shaibani, at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh, where they reviewed the latest developments in the current situation in Syria and the efforts made in this regard.
During the meeting, Prince Faisal bin Farhan reiterated Saudi Arabia's supportive stance towards everything that would achieve security and stability in Syria, in a way that preserves its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
The two sides discussed ways to support everything that contributes to achieving a prosperous future of security, stability and prosperity for Syria and its people. They also touched on issues aimed at preserving the Syrian state’s institutions and capabilities, and returning it to its natural position and status in the Arab and Islamic worlds.
Al-Shaibani arrived in Riyadh on Wednesday evening, on his first foreign visit, heading an official delegation that included Defense Minister Marhaf Abu Qasra and Intelligence Service Chief Anas Khattab.
Al-Shaibani expressed in a post on the “X” platform, after his arrival in Riyadh, on the first official visit of the new Syrian administration abroad, his hope that this visit would open “a new and bright page in the relations between the two countries, befitting the long shared history between them.”
Unlimited aid

On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia announced the launch of an air bridge to Syria to transport humanitarian aid, including medical, food and shelter supplies, "to alleviate the difficult conditions" facing Syrians.
Samer Al-Jatili, spokesman for the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, said, “The aid provided by Saudi Arabia to the Syrian people within the relief bridge has no specific ceiling, as it will remain open until its goals are achieved on the ground there by stabilizing the humanitarian situation, in accordance with the directives of the Saudi leadership; to alleviate the suffering of those affected.”
He added - in a statement to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper - "Trucks loaded with fuel will be sent to Syria via Jordan soon, noting that the fuel will be allocated to bakeries in order to help them continue their activities in light of the challenges they face as a result of the current situation."
Last month, a Saudi delegation met with the leader of the new Syrian administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa, in Damascus, a source close to the government told AFP.
