A Palestinian source familiar with the Gaza negotiations revealed to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that Sunday is decisive in the fate of the indirect negotiations, which are taking place through mediators, between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Israeli occupation government.

The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that the mediators were able to bridge the gaps between the two parties through compromise solutions, adding that the mediators are awaiting the response of the Israeli occupation government tonight, after a meeting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold with a number of ministers and officials.

Sources previously revealed to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that the occupation government refused to release a list of 10 leaders of the factions’ symbols, in the first phase, including Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti, Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Ahmed Saadat, and from Hamas Abdullah Barghouti, Hassan Salameh, Fathi Hamed, and Abbas Al-Sayed, in addition to two leaders of the Islamic Jihad movement.

In the context, Israeli media reported that the head of the Israeli intelligence agency (Mossad), David Barnea, will head to the Qatari capital, Doha, tomorrow, Monday, to continue the negotiations, while the correspondent of the American website "Axios" reported that US President Joe Biden's advisor, Brett McGurk, arrived in Doha to join the ceasefire talks in Gaza.

Israeli reports quoted unnamed sources described as "informed" as saying that "there is significant progress" in the negotiations, adding that "it is too early to talk about the final details, because there is still much that needs to be accomplished."

Hamas announced, on Friday evening, the resumption of indirect negotiations with Israel in the Qatari capital, Doha, focusing on a ceasefire, the withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza, and the return of the displaced.

Hamas said in a statement: "Indirect negotiations will resume on Friday in the Qatari capital, Doha," adding, "This round will focus on whether the (expected) agreement will lead to a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of occupation forces from Gaza, implementation details, and the return of the displaced to their homes."

The statement continued: "Hamas affirms its seriousness, positivity, and its efforts to reach an agreement as soon as possible that will achieve the aspirations of our people, the most important of which is stopping the aggression and protecting our people, in light of the genocide and ethnic cleansing practiced by the occupation."
