The number of martyrs in the Gaza Strip rose to more than one hundred today, Sunday, as a result of a series of massacres committed by the Israeli occupation army since the dawn hours, the largest of which was in the northern Gaza Strip, while the Hamas movement demanded immediate action to "break the criminal siege and the war of starvation against civilians in Gaza."
Al Jazeera quoted medical sources this evening as saying that 111 Palestinians were killed as a result of the Israeli raids, 70 of them in the northern Gaza Strip.
Earlier today, the government media office in Gaza said that the occupation army "committed 4 brutal massacres during the past hours, as it bombed several residential buildings and civilian homes, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 72 martyrs from the families of Ghabayen, Ghanem, Safi, Ayada, Abdul-Ati and Al-Taluli in Beit Lahia (northern Gaza Strip)."
He added, in a statement, that the Israeli army "committed two massacres in the Nuseirat and Bureij camps by bombing civilian homes, and 24 martyrs from the Abu Armana, Saidam, Aql, Al-Masri, Al-Hamlawi and Ummum families were killed as a result of the two massacres."
The office pointed out that the occupation army "knew that these homes and residential buildings contained dozens of displaced civilians, and that the majority of them were children and women who had been displaced from their civilian residential neighborhoods, and that the planes had pursued them with tons of missiles."
According to the statement, "These horrific and brutal crimes come in conjunction with the genocidal war that has reached its 408th consecutive day. These massacres also coincide with the Israeli occupation's collapse of the health system in the Gaza Strip, and in a concentrated manner in the North Gaza Governorate," where the four hospitals there were put out of service.
