Al Jawf: Yemen Youth Net - Special
Tribal sources in Al-Jawf Governorate reported that gunmen from the Bani Nouf tribes captured a Houthi militia vehicle and its members on Sunday in Al-Masloub District to demand the release of those kidnapped by the militia.
The sources explained to "Yemeni Youth Net" that the capture took place in an area near the city of Al-Hazm, the center of the governorate, where the crew and elements were transferred to the Al-Maslub Directorate, west of Al-Jawf.
The tribes aim, through this step, to pressure the Houthi militia to release kidnapped members of the tribe from the militia's prisons.
The sources confirmed that the militants are seeking to exchange the Houthi elements for the sons of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Sentil, Sultan Ahmed Al-Sentil and Mohammed Khaled Ahmed Al-Sentil, who were kidnapped months ago.
According to sources, the situation in the directorate is witnessing severe tension, amid armed Houthi crowds on the outskirts of the area, in light of tribal mediation attempts to calm the situation.
The Bani Nouf tribes stipulated the release of one of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Sentil's sons and his grandson, who were kidnapped by the Houthi militia earlier on the borders of Al-Jawf and Ma'rib governorates.
It is noteworthy that the confrontations between the Houthi militia and the Bani Nouf tribes are repeated continuously, whether to demand the release of kidnapped persons or to defend the rights of the tribesmen, which reflects the continued tension between the two parties resulting from the tribal rejection of any Houthi presence in their lands.
