The Human Rights Office in Al-Duraihimi District, Al-Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen, said on Thursday that the Houthi militia kidnapped a woman in her mid-forties from one of the displacement camps.

The office confirmed in a statement that it "documented the first case of kidnapping of a woman in the directorate, where the terrorist Houthi militia kidnapped citizen Fatima Ayesh Ahmed (45 years old) from inside the Markouda camp for the displaced, and took her to an unknown location."

The office explained, "Armed Houthi elements wearing masks stormed the camp, kidnapped the victim on board a military vehicle belonging to the militia, and forcibly took her to an unknown location, while her family was unable to know her whereabouts."

The statement described the crime as the first of its kind in the directorate, which is subjected to almost daily serious violations, holding the militia responsible for the safety of the kidnapped woman.

The statement called on the international community to intervene immediately to release Fatima and all detainees, and to pressure the militia to stop its violations that contradict human values and morals.
