The terrorist Houthi militia imposed compulsory taxes on vegetable and fruit sellers in one of the markets of the city of Ibb (central Yemen).

Local sources said that Houthi elements affiliated with the leader Abdul Wahid Al-Marouei, who was appointed by the militia as the deputy governor of Ibb for technical affairs, stormed the wholesale market for vegetables and fruits in Al-Dhahar district yesterday, Sunday, and imposed compulsory financial and in-kind levies on the vendors.

The sources added that the militia forced the vendors to pay sums of money, while confiscating material items from vendors who did not have money.

These levies come within the framework of extensive campaigns targeting merchants and vendors in all cities of the governorate, implemented by various entities affiliated with the militia, despite the state of recession that is hitting the governorate’s markets.
