IOM: 38 Yemeni families displaced for security and economic reasons during the past week

The International Organization for Migration announced, on Monday, the displacement of 38 families from several Yemeni governorates, during the past week, for security and economic reasons.
The organization said in its weekly report that its tracking matrix monitored the displacement of 38 Yemeni families (228 individuals) during the period from December 15 to 21.
She explained that the displacement cases originated from Hodeidah, Taiz, Marib and Lahj, and settled in Marib with 30 families, while 7 families moved to Hodeidah, and one family settled in Taiz.
The organization stated that economic reasons related to the conflict were the main reason behind 20 families leaving their original areas, representing 53% of the total displacement cases, while concerns related to safety and security prompted 18 families to be displaced, representing 47%.
She pointed out that the total number of displaced persons throughout the country rose during the period from January 1 to December 21, 2024, to 3,589 families representing (21,534 individuals).
