A UN statistic revealed that about 22,000 people were displaced for security and economic reasons in a number of Yemeni governorates during the past year 2024 AD.
The International Organization for Migration said that its Displacement Tracking Matrix monitored the displacement of 3,649 families (21,894 individuals) during the period from January 1 to December 28, 2024.
The organization added that among the displaced families were 32 families representing 192 individuals, who were displaced last week (December 22-28) from the governorates of Hodeidah, Taiz, Al Jawf and Ibb.
The UN organization indicated that the majority of displacement cases witnessed by the country during the past year were driven by security concerns related to the conflict, and for economic reasons.
