563 new cancer cases recorded in Hodeidah during the year 2024 AD

The National Cancer Control Foundation in Al Hudaydah Governorate (western Yemen) announced today, Tuesday, the registration of 563 new cases of cancer during the year 2024 AD.
The media official at the institution’s branch in the governorate (Abdul Majeed Ahmed) said that 563 new cases of cancer were recorded in Hodeidah during the current year.
He added in a post on his Facebook page that among the recorded cases, 61 new cases were recorded during the current month of December.
He pointed out that the cases of infection were distributed among (328 women, 201 men, and 34 children).
With these statistics, the number of people infected with the disease in the governorate rose to 8,466, according to the institution’s statistics, which indicate that the cumulative number of people infected until the end of 2023 AD reached 7,903 cases of infection.
Yesterday, Monday, the Minister of Health, Dr. Qasim Buhaibeh, revealed in press statements that the authorities in Yemen monitor 30,000 cases of cancer in the country annually.
He said: "The spread of cancer has reached significant levels in Yemen, which has created negative repercussions on the reality of the health sector, which faces major challenges due to the repercussions of the war."
Minister Buhaibeh stressed the need to adhere to the means of prevention from this malignant disease.
