The First Brigade of Zaraniq, affiliated with the Joint Forces, denied that one of its soldiers stormed a citizen's house in the city of Al-Khokha, south of Al-Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen.

Yesterday, Thursday, a local source told "Yemeni Youth Net" that soldiers from the First Brigade of Zaraniq, affiliated with the joint forces, stormed the house of the citizen "Yassin Hassan" in the village of Al-Qataba in Al-Khokha District and assaulted him and his family members.

For his part, the Al-Zaraniq Brigade said - in a press release that reached "Yemeni Youth Net" - "We have no connection to the incident" and explained "The truth is that a person fired two shots in the air with the aim of dispersing people, against the backdrop of a dispute between a group of neighborhood residents on Wednesday over a game (called Farfira)".

The statement indicated that "the dispute developed into a fight, and the incident was dealt with and investigated by the Qataba Security Department, which issued an official clarification about the incident, confirming that the allegations regarding the brigade members' assault or shooting were false."

In his response, the Major General attached a report on the incident that took place in the Qataba area, certified by the Director of the Police Department, which revealed a complaint filed by three people, due to a dispute between five others from the same family - including a soldier in the Seventh Brigade - and confirmed that there was no break-in of homes.

Yemen Youth Net was unable to verify the authenticity of the attached document, but it publishes the news in accordance with its commitment to the right of reply.

Continuous violations are being committed against the population on the West Coast by soldiers or officers in the joint forces, and many incidents have been monitored over the past years.
