Real Madrid managed to return with three points from the Mestalla stadium on a night that witnessed the expulsion of Brazilian Vinicius Junior.

Real Madrid showed their strong character against their host Valencia when they won 2-1 on Friday in a postponed match from the twelfth round of the Spanish Football League.

Real Madrid were on their way to a surprising loss due to falling behind by a goal scored by Hugo Duro (27) and the expulsion of their star Vinicius Junior (79), but the veteran Luka Modric changed the course of the match.

Modric came on in the 80th minute instead of Ceballos and managed to equalize for the visitors in the 85th minute.

Englishman Bellingham took advantage of a strange defensive mistake and made up for his failure to execute a penalty kick (55) when he gave Real Madrid the winning goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Real Madrid raised its score to 43 points at the top, two points ahead of its neighbor Atletico Madrid, which played one less match, while Valencia's score stopped at 12 points in the penultimate place.
