The General Authority of Land and Sea Ports in Syria took over all crossings in the northern countryside of Aleppo, northern Syria, after a meeting with entities affiliated with the Turkish government.
A meeting was held between the presidency of the authority and a delegation from several bodies affiliated with the Turkish government, in which coordination took place to receive all crossings in the northern Aleppo countryside by the new Syrian government, namely Jarablus, Al-Rai, Bab Al-Salam and Al-Hamam, according to what the director of the authority, Mazen Alloush, reported to the Syrian News Agency last night, Saturday.
Yesterday, Saturday, the head of the Syrian Civil Aviation and Air Transport Authority, Ashhad Al-Salibi, announced the start of receiving international flights to and from Damascus International Airport starting from January 7th.
In a statement to the Syrian News Agency, Al-Salibi reassured Arab and international airlines that "we are in the process of completely rehabilitating the airports of Aleppo and Damascus with the help of our partners so that they will be able to receive flights from all over the world."
Meanwhile, the Syrian caretaker Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani arrived in the Qatari capital, Doha, today, Sunday, as part of his tour of Arab countries, on a one-day official visit.
According to diplomatic sources who spoke to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, Al-Shaibani and the accompanying delegation will discuss with officials in Qatar relations between the two countries, Qatari aid to Syria, and the latest developments in the country.
Al-Shebani's visit to Doha comes as part of an Arab tour that will take him to the UAE and Jordan. He had visited Saudi Arabia last weekend.
