Statistics: 319 people died and were injured in traffic accidents in the liberated governorates during last October

Security statistics reported the death and injury of 319 people as a result of traffic accidents that took place in the liberated areas during last October.

The statistics published by the Security Media of the Ministry of Interior stated that the accidents that took place on the roads of the liberated areas during the past month of October resulted in the death of 62 people and the injury of 257 others, 115 of whom were seriously injured.

The statistics showed that the accidents were distributed between 228 vehicle collision accidents, 86 pedestrian run-over accidents, 29 vehicle rollover accidents, 9 vehicle falls, 3 vehicle collisions with a fixed object, and 3 vehicle fire accidents.

The statistics and reports of the traffic police departments in the governorates attributed the causes and factors of these traffic accidents to the responsibility of the human element at a rate exceeding 93%, while the 7% of these accidents are distributed among other elements such as the road, its nature, and the environmental factors associated with it, the vehicle, its suitability, and technical faults.
