The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms announced, on Sunday, that it had documented hundreds of crimes and serious violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militia in the village of Hanakat Al Masoud in the Al Qurayshiyah District in Al Bayda Governorate (central Yemen) over the past few days.

This came in a report published today, under the title "Qayfa, an open stage for Houthi terrorism," and the report addressed the crimes and violations of the militia in Al Bayda Governorate since 2015.

The network said, "The village of Hanakat Al Masoud in Al Qurishiyah District was the target of a siege that lasted for more than a week, as the militia used drones and heavy weapons to destroy homes and displace families."

She added that the Houthi campaign led to the killing of 7 civilians and the injury of 18 others, including women and children. The militia also launched a large-scale kidnapping campaign that targeted at least 400 civilians, including children and elderly people.

She added that the field team of the Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms documented the Houthi militia’s complete detonation of about (16) houses, and the burning of (5) other houses, as a result of the indiscriminate bombing by drones, noting that the bombing also resulted in the partial destruction of most of the houses in the Hanakat Al Masoud area in its seven residential complexes, which are: Al-Saram, Al-Sabla, Kabadah, Al-Qabil, Al-Qa’, Ras Al-Shafa, and Al-Mashwaf.

The report listed thousands of violations committed by the militia in Al Bayda Governorate from the beginning of 2015 until the beginning of this year, confirming that it documented (8181) incidents of violations and human and material damage.

He pointed out that these violations included the killing of (842) civilians, including women and children, and the wounding of (931) others with varying degrees of severity, some of whom resulted in permanent disabilities, (2780) cases of arrest and kidnapping, (366) cases of enforced disappearance, (132) cases of psychological and physical torture, and (2691) incidents of violations that affected public and private property and civilian objects.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms confirmed that these crimes represent a flagrant violation of the Geneva Conventions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, international humanitarian law, and international human rights law, and they amount to war crimes that reflect the criminal nature of the Houthi militias.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms called on the international community and the United Nations to take urgent action to stop these violations, pressure the Houthi militia to lift the siege immediately, and provide safe corridors for humanitarian aid.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms also called on the High Commissioner for Human Rights and all international mechanisms to condemn these violations and crimes, to prosecute their perpetrators and those responsible, and to ensure the provision of protection to the civilian population in the affected areas.
