The Houthis announced the deaths of 13 people and the injury of nine others in US airstrikes targeting sites in Sanaa on Saturday evening. US media reported that the targeted sites included the homes of Houthi leaders in Sanaa.
The Ministry of Health in Sanaa reported that "the death toll from the US-British aggression has risen to 13 martyrs and nine wounded civilians." According to Houthi-affiliated media, the bombing "targeted the Al-Jarf neighborhood in the Shu'ub district, north of Sanaa."
The Wall Street Journal quoted informed sources as saying, "Among the sites targeted in the US attacks were the homes of Houthi leaders in Sanaa."
Houthi media reported that a US-British convoy targeted Saada and Dhamar, approximately two hours after the strikes on Sanaa.
Reuters quoted US officials as saying that President Donald Trump has authorized a "more aggressive approach" toward the Houthis in Yemen.

US President Donald Trump announced today that he had ordered the military to launch "decisive and forceful military action" against Houthi terrorists in Yemen. He added, "I say to the Houthi terrorists: Your time is up, and your attacks must cease, or I will rain down hell upon you like you have never seen before."
Violent explosions rocked the capital, Sanaa, and plumes of smoke rose from targeted sites near Sanaa Airport and the television building in the Al-Jarraf neighborhood, northwest of the capital, according to local sources.
"The aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman is in the region and leading the US military response," a US defense official said. US military officials described Saturday's strikes as the beginning of an ongoing campaign targeting the rebel group.
According to the Wall Street Journal, citing US defense officials, "US military officials met with Trump earlier this week to discuss military options."
These are the first US strikes in Yemen by the Trump administration, targeting the Houthi group, which has previously carried out extensive attacks in the Red Sea targeting US and British ships. These attacks began in November 2023 and ceased with the announcement of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
