The UN envoy's office said late last night that Grundberg "discussed with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, and his deputy, Nada Al-Nashif, ongoing efforts to release UN colleagues who have been arbitrarily detained by Ansar Allah (the Houthis)."
The office added in a brief statement via its account on the X platform: "The United Nations remains steadfast in its demands for their immediate and unconditional release."

In early June, the Houthi militia kidnapped 70 employees of international and local organizations in areas under its control, including 13 employees from the United Nations. In mid-October, the militia referred a number of the kidnapped UN employees to the "Criminal Prosecution", in preparation for starting their trial.
