Yemen Youth - Follow-ups
The Iranian Houthi militia admitted that the ports of Hodeidah suffered heavy losses estimated at more than $313 million, as a result of the raids carried out by the Israeli occupation in three separate attacks since last July, targeting the ports of Hodeidah, Al-Salif, and Ras Issa.
During a press conference held by the militia's Red Sea Ports Corporation on Saturday, the corporation explained that the raids destroyed bridge cranes, the power station, and tugboats used to operate ships, in addition to causing damage to the infrastructure and operational facilities of the ports, which greatly affected their operational capacity.
According to the institution’s statements reported by the Houthi Saba news agency, the latest raids, which took place last Thursday, came after two previous raids on July 21 and September 29, which deepened the damage suffered by the Red Sea ports.
The report indicated that the continued targeting of ports could lead to millions of Yemenis being deprived of obtaining fuel, food and medicine, describing the raids as a "terrorist act" aimed at destroying civilian infrastructure and strangling the Yemeni people.
These confessions come amid growing concerns about the humanitarian repercussions of destroying the ports, which represent a major lifeline for food, fuel and medicine supplies to Yemenis, at a time when the humanitarian crisis in the country is worsening.
