Sayoun.. Chief of Staff meets with the leadership of the First Region and praises its role in protecting interests and fighting terrorism

Today, Monday, the Chief of the General Staff, Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, held an expanded meeting with the leadership of the First Military Region in the city of Seiyun in Hadhramaut Governorate, eastern Yemen.

The meeting was attended by the commander of the region, the commander of the 37th Armored Brigade, Major General Saleh Mohammed Al-Jaimlani, the advisor to the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Major General Saleh Taymis, the advisor to the Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Yahya Abu Awja, and the military committee tasked with supervising the handover process between the successor and predecessor commanders of the region and the command of the 135th Infantry Brigade, according to the Armed Forces Media Center.

Bin Aziz expressed his congratulations to the new leaders for gaining the leadership’s confidence in entrusting them with leadership tasks, wishing them success and guidance, expressing his appreciation and thanks for the sacrifices of the previous leaders and the efforts they made in light of the difficult circumstances the country is experiencing, and wishing them success in the new tasks entrusted to them.

He said that the armed forces will remain a model of discipline and organization, subject to the decisions and directives of the highest authorities and committed to the provisions of the constitution, laws and regulations, bearing the duties of restoring the state and protecting the gains and constants, stressing the strengthening of the unity and cohesion of the armed forces, as a solid sovereign institution in which national unity is embodied.

The Chief of Staff praised the sacrifices of the leaders and heroes of the army in the First Military Region in preserving stability and security, protecting vital interests, fighting terrorism and smuggling, and their national roles in confronting the terrorist Houthi group.

Lieutenant General Bin Aziz also listened to briefings from the region's command and unit commanders on the operational and field situation, stressing the need to enhance vigilance, readiness and cooperation between the military and security forces in a way that contributes to performing tasks with full efficiency and competence.

The Chief of Staff honored Major General Saleh Taymis and Brigadier General Yahya Abu Awja, in appreciation of their sacrifices, their struggle roles, and their contributions to building and modernizing the armed forces.

In addition, the Chief of General Staff visited the Joint Forces Detachment of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Sayoun, appreciating the sacrifices of the brothers in the countries of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and their fraternal positions alongside Yemen and their support and backing of the Yemeni army at various levels and fields.
