Trump: Strikes on the Houthis were painful, and the campaign will continue.

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the strikes launched by his country's military against the Houthis in Yemen were painful, stressing that the military campaign against them will continue.

During his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Trump added that "the attacks inflicted significant damage on the Houthis."

He continued, "It's been a bad three weeks for the Houthis, and it could continue. We've destroyed the Houthis and prevented them from launching missiles and drones."

The US President said that Iran cannot continue to provide support to the Houthis, adding, "Iran must stop supporting the Houthis."

He added, "The United States will hold direct talks with Iran, and we prefer to reach an agreement with Iran," stressing that it is "in Iran's interest for the negotiations to be successful."

Meanwhile, Houthi media reported that US aircraft launched five airstrikes on the Al-Jafrah area in Harib District, Ma'rib Governorate, northeastern Yemen.

Earlier today, US Central Command said via its X platform that "the USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group continues to perform its missions with professionalism, conducting continuous, 24-hour operations against the Iranian-backed Houthis."

On March 15, the US President announced that he had ordered his country's military to launch a "major offensive" against the Houthi group, later threatening to "completely eliminate the Houthis."
