Bayern Munich continued its recent revival and strong results locally and continentally, by defeating its guest, Paris Saint-Germain, 1-0, on Tuesday evening, in the fifth round of the UEFA Champions League.

South Korean defender Kim Min-jae scored the only goal of the match for Bayern with a header, following up a corner kick in the 38th minute of the match that was held at the Allianz Arena, the home of the Bavarian team.

Bayern achieved its second consecutive victory in the Champions League after defeating Benfica of Portugal in the last round, raising the team's score to 9 points in eleventh place.

As for the Parisian team, it completed the match with ten players after its star, Ousmane Dembele, was sent off in the 56th minute after a violent tackle against the Canadian Alphonso Davies, Bayern Munich's left-back.

The Parisian team's balance froze at four points, dropping to twenty-sixth place, outside the qualifying places for the round of 16, after its second consecutive loss and the third in its journey in the Champions League, as it fell to Atletico Madrid of Spain by two goals to one in the last round.

Despite winning by one goal, Bayern Munich wasted many opportunities throughout the two halves due to the recklessness of its stars Leroy Sane, Harry Kane, Alphonso Davies and Kingsley Coman in the final touch, while the post responded to a ball from Jamal Musiala in the second half.

As for Paris Saint-Germain, they were satisfied with a few attempts, the most dangerous of which were two shots from Joao Neves and another from Dembele before he was sent off, which was blocked by Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Bayern Munich will play in the next round against Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine, while Paris Saint-Germain will visit Red Bull Salzburg of Austria.
