Lookman is the best player.. CAF Awards for the year 2024

Nigerian Ademola Lookman, the striker for the Italian club Atalanta, has reaped the rewards of his outstanding performance after winning the award for the best player in Africa for 2024. The Confederation of African Football announced this during the awards ceremony held in Marrakech today, Monday.

Lookman (27 years old) succeeded in winning the award after he shone remarkably last season and led Atalanta to win the European League title.

Lookman succeeded his compatriot Osimhen, who won the award last year, so the prestigious award has now been won by Nigerian stars in two consecutive editions for the first time this century.

The shortlist announced last month included Lookman, Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, South African Williams, Ivorian Simon and Guinean Guirassy.

Al-Ahly of Egypt wins the Best Club Award

Al-Ahly SC of Egypt won the award for the best club in Africa during the 2024 Confederation of African Football Awards ceremony held in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.

Al-Ahly's victory was the culmination of its superiority in 2024, which witnessed its winning of the African Champions League title for the second time in a row, the fourth in the last five years, and the twelfth time in its history, maintaining its record as the most crowned club in the African continent with the title of the tournament.

South Africa and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams was named the best player in Africa.
