According to the French newspaper L'Equipe, the Manchester City midfielder received 1,170 votes, 41 votes ahead of Vinicius, who received 1,129 votes.

The newspaper reported that there were 5 voters who did not include Rodri in the list of the first 10 players in the world, while Vinicius was excluded by 3 journalists.

The newspaper also indicated that there are 7 players who were voted at least once in first place on the best list, namely: Jude Bellingham (5 times), Dani Carvajal (4 times), Toni Kroos (twice), Kylian Mbappe, Lautaro Martinez, Ademola Lookman and Erling Haaland (once).
