Then he added, speaking on the immigration file, "Quickly we have to fix the borders.. We want people to come to us legally," adding, "We will help the country heal."

At the end of his speech, Trump thanked the millions of Americans "who were the heart and soul of this great movement," he said.

Trump promised to cut taxes, saying, "We can do things that nobody else can do. China doesn't have what we have. Nobody else has what we have."

"We will change the course of the country in many ways and this will be remembered as the day the American people took back control of their country," he said.

Trump then noted the dynamics his campaign created, noting that his campaign was able to attract diverse Americans. “These people came from all over the place… from unions, black Americans, Latinos, Arab Americans, Muslim Americans… We have everyone, this is beautiful. This is a historic alliance that united people from different backgrounds.”

He continued, speaking about the two assassination attempts he faced during the election campaign, saying, "God saved me for a reason, and that reason is to save the country and restore America's greatness, and now we will accomplish this mission together."

He concluded by saying, "I will rule with a simple slogan... The promises that are made are promises that we keep and implement. Nothing will prevent me from fulfilling the promises that I made to myself before you."

"It's time to put aside the divisions of the past four years. It's time to unite. Success brings us together, and we're going to start by putting America first," he said. "Together, we can make America great again for all Americans."

"I will not let you down," he concluded. "America's future will be better."

By the time Trump took to the stage in front of his fans, he had 267 electoral college votes, compared to 214 for his rival Kamala Harris, putting him just three votes away from the 270 electoral college votes needed to secure the White House.
