How to get rid of difficulty sleeping?

Difficulty sleeping or insomnia has become a common problem in the year, as many people face the problem of sleep deprivation at night, regardless of how tired they are throughout the day.
Stress, anxiety, illness or pain can all be factors that can prevent us from sleeping well. If you're someone who regularly struggles with this, a doctor has some sleep tips for you.
Speaking on social media platform TikTok, Dr Mairo Figura said that those who are having trouble sleeping at night should not stay in bed if they fail to sleep for 30 minutes. This is because your mind is “very active” and you need to change your environment.
Dr. Figura suggested going into another room and engaging in some sort of activity. “Go into another room and do something boring in a low-light environment,” he explained. “Things like knitting, reading, staring out the window. You need to reboot the pineal gland’s melatonin production.”
“But no screens at all,” he warned. “Your computer and phone will emit blue light that will interrupt this cycle. And if you still don’t feel sleepy, try deep breathing and meditation techniques.”
He also recommended taking melatonin supplements if you can't sleep, which must be obtained by prescription, for safety reasons.
According to the Sleep Foundation, most adults with healthy sleep patterns take 15 to 20 minutes to fall asleep on a typical night.
Experts recommend talking to your GP if changing your sleep habits doesn't help with your insomnia, if you've had trouble sleeping for several months, or if your insomnia is affecting your daily life in a way that makes it difficult for you to cope.
