The International Federation of Journalists condemned the execution by the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda in Yemen of journalist Mohammed Al-Maqri, who has been missing since October 2015, and demanded that the perpetrators of this heinous crime be held accountable, while the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate renewed its demand for the Houthi militia to release the rest of the kidnapped journalists.

The Houthi militias have been going through a silent crisis since the killing of their founder, Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the rise of his brother, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, to lead the rebel movement. Tribal leader Abdullah Aydah al-Razami, who was a friend of Hussein al-Houthi, refused to recognize the new leadership, and was followed by his son Yahya al-Razami, who leads armed tribal groups called the “Hamdan Axis” on the Saudi border and affiliated with the powerful “Hamdan bin Zaid” tribes in Saada. Despite the latter’s appointment as a brigadier general in the Houthi army and head of the negotiating delegation taking place in the Jordanian capital (Amman) with the legitimate Yemeni government, he still enjoys independence with his forces, part of which are deployed on the outskirts of the capital, Sana’a, and do not follow the Houthi military and administrative hierarchy, which made him a source of great concern for the group. He refused the group’s leader’s orders to transfer his forces to the governorate of “Taiz” - central southern Yemen.

Local media reported that the Zainabiyat Battalion, led by "Insaf Al-Shami and Aisha Al-Shami", took control of the female students' dormitory at the University of Science and Technology for Girls, which is under Houthi control in Sana'a.

Today, Sunday, the member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, Major General Sultan Al-Arada, called on the Red Cross team to visit the abductees in Houthi prisons, check on their humanitarian and health conditions, and enable them to communicate with their families.

For the fourth day in a row, the Houthi terrorist militia continues to kidnap a photographer from Ibb Governorate (central Yemen).

The United Nations and the Yemeni government negotiating delegation confirmed, on Wednesday, that an agreement had been reached to release prominent politician Mohammed Qahtan in an exchange deal with the Houthi militias.
