The official Syrian news agency "SANA" revealed, on Sunday, the discovery of a mass grave, dating back to a massacre previously committed by the ousted regime of Bashar al-Assad, in the vicinity of the village of al-Qabu in the Homs Governorate in central Syria.

Two members of the General Security Forces and the Military Operations Department were killed and six others were injured on Thursday evening during clashes with armed groups from the ousted regime of Bashar al-Assad, in the northwestern countryside of Homs, central Syria.

Syrian cities and provinces are falling one after the other into the hands of the armed opposition factions advancing from the north. After completing their control since November 27, 2024 over Idlib and its countryside, Aleppo and its countryside, followed by the city of Hama and its surroundings on Thursday, the opposition forces, or what is known as the “Joint Operations Administration,” are now on the outskirts of the city of Homs, the largest Syrian province.

The Syrian armed opposition announced on Friday that its fighters had taken control of the cities of Rastan and Talbiseh in the northern Homs countryside, and were advancing towards the city of Homs.

A Syrian opposition leader said that the city of Hama, which was stormed by armed opposition factions on Thursday afternoon, was bound to fall, and that what awaits the regime will be more difficult.

With the rapid advance of the Syrian opposition factions, this Saturday afternoon, in the northern Hama countryside, and their ability to control most of the cities and towns there, the Syrian regime forces began to evacuate their positions and head completely to the Homs Governorate, located to the south.
