The Syrian armed opposition announced on Friday that its fighters had taken control of the cities of Rastan and Talbiseh in the northern Homs countryside, and were advancing towards the city of Homs.
The spokesman for the military operations room of the armed Syrian opposition, Hassan Abdul Ghani, said via the Telegram application that the forces are advancing steadily towards the city of Homs.
Earlier, Abdul Ghani said that in the coming days there would be "surprises" and new axes on the battlefield, and urged the military units of the Syrian army in Homs to defect en masse and head towards Hama.
Since November 27, the Syrian opposition factions have been leading a military operation called “Deterrence of Aggression,” and have rapidly managed to take control of Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama, amid major collapses in the ranks of the regime forces.
