Director General of Ataq International Airport, Salem Hamed Lamlas, said that Minister of Transport, Abdul Salam Hamid, directed on Wednesday the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology and Yemenia Airlines to arrange flights to Ataq International Airport.
The Director General of Ataq International Airport, Lamlas, confirmed in a press statement that the Minister’s directives stressed the need to expedite the operation of flights to and from Ataq International Airport.
According to a statement published by the media office of Shabwa Governorate on Facebook, Lamlas explained that the arrangements include organizing an inaugural flight as a first step to activate the flights as soon as possible.
Lamlas pointed out that this step came after the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology announced, in an official statement today, Wednesday, the operation of Ataq International Airport with full readiness, and its invitation to airlines to operate their flights to the airport.
The Director General of Ataq Airport praised the great efforts made by the specialists, which resulted in the completion of the airport’s equipment and its declaration as ready to operate with full efficiency.
Lamlas stressed that the announcement of the General Authority of Civil Aviation restored Ataq International Airport to its leading role in air traffic, which will have positive results in facilitating the movement of citizens and enhancing commercial and economic movement in the region.
