Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said that his government will not tolerate remnants of the former regime, pledging to hold accountable anyone whose hands were stained with the blood of civilians or who exploited power to achieve personal interests. He also stressed that justice will include everyone without exception.

“Some remnants of the fallen regime sought to test the new Syria that they did not know, and today they are getting to know it again, and they see it as one unified country, from east to west, and from north to south. If a province is touched by a thorn, all the other provinces will rally to support and honor it.”
