Today, Tuesday, December 10, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, a number of civil society organizations organized a conference entitled “Yemen as a Human Being,” in the Turkish capital, Istanbul, in person and via the “Zoom” platform.

A number of civil society organizations will organize a human rights conference tomorrow, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in the Turkish capital, Istanbul, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, under the slogan "Yemen as a Human Being."

An investigative report revealed important details about the security and intelligence apparatus established by the Houthi militia as a means to strengthen its authority and assert its control over the areas it controls, after it carried out numerous information gathering and survey operations to identify its loyalists and opponents.

Since approximately September 21, the Houthis have been arresting dozens of people in the governorates of Sana’a, Amran, Dhamar, Ibb, Hodeidah, Al Mahwit, Taiz, Al Bayda, Al Dhale’e and Hajjah in connection with the protests.

Humena called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to take a firm stance against these violations, pressure the Houthi group to stop the repressive campaign, immediately release all detainees, and ensure the protection of citizens’ rights and freedom of expression.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights renewed its call on Tuesday for the immediate and unconditional release of UN staff and all human rights and humanitarian workers detained in Yemen by the Houthi de facto authorities "without legal protection."
