The head of the Sovereignty Council and commander of the Sudanese army, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, said that their preparations to “end the war” do not prevent them from engaging in “any real initiative that ends the war and ensures the safe return of citizens,” in a speech broadcast on state television today, Tuesday, on the occasion of the sixty-ninth anniversary of Sudan’s independence.

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Sunday that Khartoum's welcome of Turkish mediation to end the dispute with the UAE stems from the fact that the latter is "a party to the aggression that Sudan is being subjected to," in response to a statement by the UAE Foreign Ministry regarding Turkish mediation and Abu Dhabi's vision to end the war in Sudan.

The death toll from the ongoing attacks by the Rapid Support Forces on the village of Wad Ashab in Al-Jazeera State since Tuesday has risen to 70, while the emergency room in southern Khartoum warned of the overcrowding of the morgue of Bashayer Hospital with bodies, indicating that at least 200 people were killed in the area during the past two months.
