Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Al-Sheibani
The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the new Syrian government, Asaad Al-Sheibani, arrived in the capital, Riyadh, on his first foreign visit after the overthrow of the Assad regime, in response to an invitation from his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan.
This came according to what was reported by the official Syrian news agency "SANA", quoting an unnamed source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The source said, "An official Syrian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani, Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra, and the head of the General Intelligence Service Anas Khattab, arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on the first official foreign visit after an invitation from the Saudi Foreign Minister."
On Monday, Al-Shaibani announced that he will visit Saudi Arabia in the first week of 2025.
