Six informed sources told Reuters that the United States has presented the Syrian government with a list of conditions that must be met in exchange for partial easing of sanctions imposed on the country.

The Israeli occupation army launched raids targeting several sites in the Al-Kiswah area, south of Damascus, and in the Daraa countryside late at night. Israeli forces also penetrated the administrative borders between the Daraa and Quneitra governorates in southern Syria.

The Preparatory Committee for the Syrian National Conference said that it will begin tomorrow, Monday, sending invitations to the people it has chosen to participate in this conference, which is expected by all Syrians, and is entrusted with setting constitutional constants, discussing pivotal issues, and determining the mechanisms for managing the country during the transitional phase.

France, which has been marginalized in the crisis in the Middle East, is now re-engaging in Lebanon and Syria, where its historical role extends, and it retains some levers of influence in the region.

The new Syrian administration, headed by Ahmed al-Sharaa, is taking rapid steps towards strengthening Damascus’ foreign relations at the regional and international levels, in line with Syria’s strategic position in the region, which places it on the intersection of regional circles of influence between Turkey and the Arab world, including Saudi Arabia.

Reuters quoted a Syrian source familiar with the talks that took place in Damascus between Syrian officials and a Russian delegation as saying that the commander-in-chief of the new administration in Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, requested that his country hand over the ousted president, Bashar al-Assad, and his close aides who are in Russia.
