US Central Command Commander Michael Kurilla held 10-hour talks with Israeli military leaders regarding Iran and the Houthi group in Yemen.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that Kurilla arrived in Israel on Tuesday, where he held meetings with senior security officials in Tel Aviv, including IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.
According to the agency, the meetings between Kurilla and Israeli officials lasted for approximately 10 hours, focusing on Iran and the Houthis.
The commission noted that Korella's meeting with Zamir and other military and security leaders came amid US threats to strike Iranian nuclear facilities and increased attacks against the Houthis in Yemen.
She added that Corella's visit to Israel could be a prelude to launching an attack on Iran.
She said, "There are assessments that if the United States launches an attack on Iran, or intensifies its strikes in Yemen, Israel must prepare accordingly."
This is the US military official's second visit to Israel within a month. In early March, he discussed military partnership efforts between the two countries and increased interoperability between their forces with the new Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir.
In the past week, the Americans have significantly reinforced their forces in the Middle East, including the transfer of dozens of fighter jets and heavy bombers to the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, approximately 3,500 kilometers from both Iran and Yemen. This poses a threat from the United States to Tehran and the Houthis in Yemen.
On March 15, US President Donald Trump announced that he had ordered his country's military to launch a major attack against the Houthi group in Yemen, before threatening to eliminate them.
It's worth noting that Trump revealed on March 7 that he sent a letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in which he said, "I hope you will negotiate because our military intervention would be a terrible thing."
The White House spokeswoman said on Tuesday that Iran has become weak as a result of US attacks on the Houthis.
For its part, Iran has reiterated its rejection of negotiations under threat, and on Monday sent an official protest note to Switzerland—which manages US diplomatic interests in Tehran—in response to President Donald Trump's threats to target its territory.
