The Political Affairs Department of the Syrian Transitional Government announced the appointment of three people responsible for the diplomatic file and the work of embassies inside Syria.
The administration stated in a post on Telegram today, Wednesday, that this step aims to "enhance the efficiency of diplomatic work, facilitate the work of embassies operating within Syrian territory, and provide direct care for ambassadors."
The persons responsible for the diplomatic file who were appointed are Muhammad Abdullah Al-Ghar, Mohsen Muhammad Mahbash, and Muhammad Qanatri.
The "Political Affairs Administration" is a body that was affiliated with the "Salvation Government" in Idlib, and it is specialized in managing the internal and external political orientation and discourse, but today it has become a source of speeches directed abroad in the transitional government that was formed a few days ago in Damascus, without including a Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the other hand, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the detainees and prisoners who were placed in Hama Central Prison will be tried in batches tomorrow, Thursday.
According to the observatory, a judicial committee will look into the affairs of the detainees, to hold accountable all those whose hands are stained with blood, and to release those who were not proven to have participated in the killing to achieve transitional justice. With the collapse of the former regime and the intensification of military operations, hundreds of elements and officers surrendered their weapons, while a large number of the former regime’s forces were arrested to be treated as prisoners of war.
The Observatory said in another post that the Military Command Administration is conducting a campaign of raids and arrests in the Syrian coast, Hama and Homs “against warlords who have traded in the blood of the sons of Syria, with influential leaders in the regime, including figures linked to Asma al-Assad and criminal leaders who committed crimes against humanity and war crimes during the era of the former regime, in addition to officers, elements, thugs and those linked to the security services who committed crimes against the sons of Syria, to arrest them and bring them to court.”
The Observatory explained that these arrests come as a result of popular demands and evidence of the detainees' involvement in bloodshed, in addition to maintaining stability in those areas.
The Military Operations Department announced during the past few days the opening of several centers to settle the status of members of the Assad regime in several Syrian provinces, where those targeted receive a settlement card in exchange for handing over the documents, equipment and equipment they have, under penalty of legal prosecution in the event of failure or providing false or incomplete information.
