Qassam Brigades announces bombing of Tel Aviv in response to Israeli massacres in Gaza

The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said it bombarded the city of Tel Aviv in central Israel with a barrage of rockets "in response to the Zionist massacres against civilians in Gaza." This comes as the Israeli occupation army announced that it had launched a ground operation along the coastal axis from the direction of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.

Al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement, "The Al-Qassam Brigades are shelling the heart of the occupied city of Tel Aviv with a barrage of M90 rockets in response to the Zionist massacres against civilians."

For its part, the Israeli army announced that it had detected three projectiles crossing from the southern Gaza Strip toward Israel. The army added, "The Israeli Air Force successfully intercepted one projectile, while two fell in an open area."

Israel's Channel 12 reported that the Iron Dome intercepted two rockets fired from Gaza toward Tel Aviv, noting that debris from the intercepted rockets fell in the city of Rishon LeZion, south of Tel Aviv.

According to the same Israeli source, the police are dealing with several locations where shrapnel fell as a result of the missile interception.

The Qassam rocket attack disrupted takeoff and landing operations at Ben Gurion International Airport, with Israeli media reporting that several civilian aircraft were circling the airspace without receiving permission to land.
