Meeting of the Head of the Customs Authority with the World Food Programme team
On Monday, in the interim capital, Aden, the head of the Customs Authority, Abdul Hakim Al-Qabati, discussed with the Director of the United Nations World Food Program Office in Aden, Laila Ahady, enhancing aspects of cooperation and joint coordination between the two sides in the customs field, and the program providing technical support to build the capacities of customs cadres.
The head of the Customs Authority, Al-Qabati, reiterated his keenness to overcome difficulties and provide the necessary facilities to all international organizations operating in our country, including the World Food Program, regarding providing facilities in accordance with the Customs Law to release relief shipments arriving at customs ports quickly, as well as the keenness of the Customs Authority to enhance cooperation with the United Nations program, especially in the area of customs exemptions.
According to Saba News Agency, Al-Qabati discussed the possibility of the World Food Program providing technical support in order to contribute to enhancing the capacity building of Customs Authority employees in the areas of customs work.
He praised the humanitarian role of the UN programme in our country as a key partner in supporting government efforts aimed at alleviating the humanitarian suffering of citizens in light of the current difficult circumstances and the challenges they face.
For her part, the Director of the World Food Program in Aden confirmed the program's keenness to continue providing support and relief assistance to Yemen and the Yemenis in several areas in various governorates.
She noted the Customs Authority's constant cooperation with the programme by providing possible facilities and releasing relief shipments, whether food or fuel.
