Al-Alimi directs to quickly complete procedures for reviewing the accounts of all ministries and institutions

He stressed the Council's commitment to comprehensive reforms to improve the efficiency of state institutions and complete the necessary procedures to enhance the role of anti-corruption mechanisms, including the restructuring of the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption.

Al-Alimi also stressed the support of the Central Agency for Control and Accounting with capabilities and competencies, and the formation of the Supreme Committee for Tenders and Auctions, and the Supreme Authority for the Control of Government Tenders and Auctions, in accordance with the applicable regulations and laws.

Last week, reports published by the official agency revealed corruption in 7 government agencies, totaling more than 1 billion, 720 million, and 679 thousand US dollars.

For its part, the Yemeni Public Prosecution confirmed that criminal proceedings had been initiated in more than 20 cases related to corruption, embezzlement of public funds, money laundering, financing terrorism, harming the state’s interests, and tax and customs evasion.
