The Houthi militia summoned three female employees of the Standards and Metrology Authority in Sana'a for individual investigation, through the so-called Security and Intelligence Service, at a qat afternoon session at the Authority.
Activist Safaa Aqaba, who was appointed Deputy Director of the Standards and Jewelry Department at the Authority, said that “she was summoned, along with her colleagues Ilham Al-Sarimy and Suad Jazem, to a siesta council at the Authority through the Secretary of the Director General and his relative, in a precedent that had never happened at the Authority before.”
She added in a post on her social media page, "When we arrived, each one of us individually, the door was first closed on me by the director of the director's office in the afternoon, and the door was locked from the outside with a key."
She continued: "I turned around to be surprised by two men I did not know and had never met before. I was confused and asked them: Who are you? They told me security and intelligence, and then the investigation. It was that I wanted to celebrate the September 26 Revolution, and I was forced to sign a written pledge."
Safaa Aqaba added, "When the investigation was completed, they contacted the director of the general manager's office to bring the second one."
Aqaba and her colleagues demanded that their reputation be restored after they were subjected to insults by the Houthi militia.
The Houthi militia had kidnapped dozens of citizens in areas under its control, under the pretext of celebrating the anniversary of the glorious September 26 Revolution, including women and children.
